So, we all came back from Christmas and New year, a little heavier and slower then before. It’s normal, to over indulge and snack over the Christmas period. Which is why in 2025, we decided not to host a KL Curry Club, but focus heavily on getting back into shape. We did this by focusing on growing 3 different clubs in the Expats Club! Those 3 Clubs were Hiking, Pickleball and Padel.
Hiking
The Hiking group is one of my favourite fitness groups and no, I’m not an avid hiker. I actually only bought hiking shoes yesterday, because the trainers I were fell apart after the last event. We had over 30 expats, joined for a 12km hike to Mirror Lake and it was incredible, even if we did get a little lost, but I imagine that’s part of the fun? One of my favourite memories of this, was we had a member of the hike who was a Tai Chi who held a class at the top of the hill with us, something I have never experienced before

Pickleball
A new sport, that used with padel and ball on a badminton coury with the net lowered? I know theres more to this than my explanation, but it’s a great sport. We actually have a lot of retirees that join this event, as it’s more about agility rather then speed. Being able to move around the court. I throughly enjoyed this and look forward to hosting more.

Padel
This was my favourite. Everyone has seen Padel appear in the last 5 years, but most haven’t played it yet. It was great, and we really had fun, having 10 expats join us. Padel again, as used with a padel and ball and a cross between squash and tennis? Will be hosting these events once every two weeks throughout 2025.

We hold more than these, we have squash, badminton and golf too. But, there may be sports that you want to to add ? What sport do you think we should try next? Who knows, if everyone enjoys it it could be a common feature.
